BELONGA FAQ
A closer look at Belonga
Belonga is being developed to make workplace culture and professional experience easier to understand before an important career decision. Learn more about the platform's purpose, the eight workplace-experience lenses, responsible technology, privacy-conscious development, and current limitations.
What is Belonga?
Belonga is a workplace-experience platform being developed by Forma Labs Technologies for professionals and job seekers aged 18 and older in the United States. It is intended to help people look beyond a job description and better understand the leadership, expectations, working relationships, growth opportunities, fairness, and sense of belonging that can shape the experience of working within an organization.
Why is Forma Labs developing Belonga?
Job descriptions explain responsibilities, qualifications, and compensation, but they rarely communicate what working within an organization may actually feel like. A talented professional and a respected employer can still be poorly aligned in areas such as leadership, communication, autonomy, feedback, pace, or expectations. Belonga is being developed to provide greater context before professionals decide where to work.
Who is Belonga being designed for?
Belonga is being designed primarily for professionals and job seekers who want to make more informed career decisions. It may also be relevant to people reflecting on their current workplace experience and to researchers or organizations seeking a more thoughtful understanding of workplace culture. Belonga is not being designed as an employee-monitoring or performance-management system.
What aspects of workplace experience will Belonga explore?
Belonga is exploring eight connected lenses: Leadership & Transparency, Belonging, Respect & Workplace Culture, Career Growth, Work–Life Balance, Psychological Safety, Fairness, and Overall Experience. No single lens defines an organization. Together, they may provide a more complete view of the everyday experiences that shape workplace culture.
How could Belonga help someone before accepting a job?
Belonga is being developed to help professionals consider more than whether their experience matches a role. Greater context about leadership, communication, growth, fairness, belonging, and ways of working may help a person ask better questions, identify what matters most to them, and make a more informed decision before saying yes. Belonga will not guarantee that a workplace is the right fit or predict a particular employment outcome.
Will Belonga label a workplace as having a good or bad culture?
No. Workplace culture is complex, and people can experience the same organization differently. Belonga is not intended to reduce an organization to a simplistic verdict or replace human judgment. Its purpose is to organize workplace signals, provide context, and help people understand patterns across several dimensions of experience.
How will Belonga use technology and AI responsibly?
Technology may help Belonga organize structured information, identify recurring themes, and make workplace patterns easier to understand. AI may support the interpretation of qualitative and quantitative signals, but it will not determine whether a workplace is universally good or bad. Human judgment, transparency, appropriate limitations, and responsible data practices are being considered throughout development.
How is Belonga approaching privacy?
Belonga is being developed with privacy-conscious participation as a core design intention. The platform is intended to support verification while limiting how member identity is displayed or disclosed in connection with workplace contributions. Because privacy and anonymity have practical and legal limits, Belonga will not promise absolute anonymity. The final experience, safeguards, and data practices will be explained in the Belonga Privacy Policy as the technical implementation is completed and tested.
How is Belonga being developed, and what are its limitations?
Belonga is currently progressing through research, product definition, prototype development, technical validation, and prospective-user feedback. Features, methods, and availability may change as the platform is tested. Belonga will provide informational workplace context; it will not act as an employer, recruiter, employment adviser, background-check service, or guarantee of employment, workplace quality, compatibility, or career outcomes.
